• Plants will still wilt if it gets hot enough; howewer adequate potassium (K) will increase the plants’ ability to tolerate heat/drought stress howewer will not eliminate it.

Lastly, Smart K can improve the marketability by increasing the quality of dry matter, sample size, tuber number, starch content. Fry colour, fat absorption, internal blackening, susceptibility to bruising, cooking quality and flavour. There are other factors that will help improve these as well; howewer they are important factors to keep in mind when deciding how much potash to use. This makes it important to have adequate potash, but not excessive.
